Kenkaku (剣角, literally "sword horn" in Japanese)
Kenkaku wears a black and silver suit of armor that resembles a samurai's, complete with a face mask and a pair of curved horns on his helmet. His eyes glow with a blue light, and his voice sounds like a deep echo. He carries a long katana sword with a red grip and a dragon-shaped tsuba (guard).
Kenkaku's ability is called foresight, which allows him to see glimpses of possible futures and choose the one he wants to achieve. However, the more complex or uncertain the situation is, the harder it is for him to use his power, and the more draining it is for his mind and body. Moreover, Kenkaku cannot change the past or instantaneously react to a surprise attack, as his power depends on his focus and his knowledge of the present. Thus, Kenkaku must balance between his duty as a defender of justice and his responsibility as a forecaster of consequences.
Kenkaku was born as a human, but he was also raised by a local Shinto shrine as a warrior monk, learning how to blend physical and spiritual discipline. When he reached adulthood, Kenkaku was summoned by a mysterious entity that identified itself as the Guardian of the Future, who bestowed upon him the mantle of Kenkaku and granted him his power. The Guardian told Kenkaku that his mission was to use his power for the greater good, to prevent disasters, to solve conflicts, and to inspire hope. Kenkaku accepted the challenge, but he also struggled with it, as he had to sacrifice his personal feelings and his privacy for the sake of others. Nevertheless, Kenkaku found solace in his spirituality, communing with the kami (spirits) of nature and the ancestors of his lineage, who gave him guidance and strength.
Kenkaku's adventures take place in a fictional city in Japan, where he patrols the streets and rooftops, searching for signs of danger or distress. In his human identity, Kenkaku works as a librarian, studying history and philosophy, and advising people on their problems. However, when he senses a crisis with his foresight, Kenkaku changes into his armored form, and rushes to the scene. Some of his enemies include a group of yakuza thugs who deal in cybernetic enhancements, a mad scientist who creates giant robots that disrupt the city, and a cult of techno-shamans who worship an AI deity. Kenkaku also faces moral dilemmas, such as when he has to choose between saving a few individuals or averting a global catastrophe, or when he has to confront a former friend who turned to crime for a good reason. Kenkaku's allies include a young girl who is a prodigy in hacking, a nature spirit who takes the form of a fox and feeds on electronic waste, and a monk who teaches him how to balance his power with meditation. Overall, Kenkaku represents the fusion of tradition and innovation, the respect for the past and the adaptation to the future, and the commitment to justice and the humility of a warrior.
